If you have previously owned or worked with a 3D printer you are well aware that many prints jobs fail because the object being printed detaches from the bed before the printing has finished, or the object begins to peel and curl.
There are make shift solutions such as using blue painters tape on the bed or expensive poly-amide ‘Kapton’ tape. These tactics can help, but are not ideal solutions. Kapton tape has only moderate adhesion properties, and inevitably the blue painters tape tears and needs replacing and it leaves the printed object with a slightly rough surface.
