Types

Aluminum Capacitors

Aluminum Capacitors are characterized by high ripple current ratings and low equivalent series resistance (ESR). Aluminum Polymer varieties offer better lifetimes and wider operating temperatures.

Ceramic Capacitors

Ceramic and Thin Film Capacitors are non-polarized and a workhorse of the industry. X7R, Y5V, C0G, NPO and more can be found with temperature ratings beyond 250°C.

Film and PTFE Capacitors

Film and PTFE Capacitors are often used in challenging situations where stability over temperature, voltage, or frequency are of paramount importance.

Audio Capacitors

Audio Capacitors deliver a high quality of sound and are designed specifically to improve the audio signal under all conditions, including high temperature.

Automotive

Automotive Capacitors go through rigorous testing and qualification processes like AEC-Q200. Sulfur and flex resistance along with higher temperature ranges are common in automotive capacitors.

Safety Capacitors are used in grid-powered AC applications for isolation and filtering. There are a variety of ratings which specify how a capacitor will fail to help reduce the risk of electric shock and fire. Common ratings include X2, Y2, and Y3, X1Y1, X1Y2 and X2Y3.
