NTC Thermistors

Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) Thermistors have an increase in resistance as temperature decreases and a decrease in resistance as temperature increases. Thermistors are commonly specified in Ohms at 25°C (77°F).

PTC Thermistors

Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Thermistors have a decrease in resistance as temperature decreases and an increase in resistance as temperature increases. Thermistors are commonly specified in Ohms at 25°C (77°F).

Thermostats (Solid State)

Temperature switches are solid state switches that operate at a specified temperature. Unlike mechanical temperature regulators, solid state temperature switches have longer lifetimes and can trip hot or cold. This establishes an exact trip point and that the hysteresis is in the desired direction
