The signs I made are not 100% accurate, because I couldn't find reliable sources. The specs on http://trafficsigns.ie ask for "the Transport Motorway alphabet", but the w:Motorway (typeface) has a rounded "3", so it's definitely not the correct one. Because there is no proper source for File:Selena Gomez Signature.png, perhaps someone could make an SVG from her signature on https://twitter.com/selenagomez/status/327062553001881601. I know, it's not perfect as she wrote a part of it on her dark hair. Some more of her handwriting can be found at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2314212/Selena-Gomez-beams-steps-Bieber-inspired-baggy-trousers-following-romantic-rendezvous-Justin.html. Typeface reconstruction[edit]

  • Arkansas-similar in height:width ratio to Erbar Light Condensed; Hill House typeface has a very similar curled 2

  • Cuba-finial ends of characters are beveled instead of serifed; all letters were used, note Cubans repainted their old plates so some letters do not clearly show underlying bevel

  • North Carolina-variable thicknesses, similar to en:Goudy's Lining Gothic design of 1921-North Carolina changed stamping typefaces every 3-4 years, better to illustrate that

  • please note characters D and F tilt \, characters C, E, P, R, and the lower leg of J tilt /, B is a distinctive style, both legs of the H tilt inward at the top, and characters A, K, N, S, T, U, W, X and Y don't tilt, not certain if other letters were used

  • Do you want this new symbol in the same size as the assembly one?

@Goran tek-en: Great! The symbol should have the same proportions like the above symbol, but since I can scale the exact size doesn't matter.

@Leoclerc: The size does matter when I create it. It's always better to be close to final/using size because thickness of lines, visibility of objects change a lot in different sizes. So then I will do it in the same size as the one you have: 36*36 pixels. If you want anything else that differs a lot from this, let me know. --Goran tek-en (talk) 14:30, 17 June 2018 (UTC)

As I mentioned, the file galleried above (file:bronze-service-star-3d-vector.svg), "When rendered smaller or larger, this SVG looks extraordinarily blurry". Mrmw (talk · contribs) explained that that fault is intrinsic to the file, and that I should instead request the creation of a new one w/o that deficiency.

Air Force Instruction 36-2803 describes a service star as "a bronze or silver five-pointed star, 3/16 inch in diameter worn on the suspension ribbon to denote subsequent awards." MilitaryClothing.com sells these devices, and images of then can be seen here, as well. I'm sure there're better resources out there.

I'm just looking for an SVG service star that scales appropriately and, if possible, looks awesome. Thanks much to all of the volunteers here. I'm happy to answer any and all questions. — fourthords | =Λ= | 17:43, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

I reduced the font size, so the word "wikipedia" doesn't exceed its rounded rectangle.
I also replaced the font "myriad roman" with a generic "sans-serif". Adobe Illustrator had put some kind of font data into the original file, but neither Commons' renderer nor common browsers know how to interpret it.

I just found out that many Wikipedias simply use the Russian version of this file, which is slightly better than the original version.
And now that I think about it, it seems unnecessary to translate this image, considering that the domain name is just an example and is basically language-independent.

@Mrmw: Hi. Before I make the other two variants I'd like to get some feedback. Is this sufficiently accurate? The blue in the original image is quite noisy. Are the exact colors specified somewhere? Is the file name okay? I've seen multiple naming conventions (e.g. abbreviating as "COA" or putting the name of the city first) and I'm not sure which one is currently preferred by the heraldry enthusiasts community. @TilmannR: Apparently, the last one from 1988 was an alternate version. There was a greater version of the COA from here. The holders and the base of the greater version of the COA can be seen here. This version dissapeared in 1990 after the Riga City Council of People's Deputies adopted an official description of the coat of arms. @Jeromi Mikhael: That image of the greater COA contains a different field and different keys. Should I change the fields and keys in the smaller coats to make everything consistent? Or is it okay to use File:Coat of Arms of Riga (1988-1990).svg in the greater CoA as it is? As far as I know, heraldry doesn't care too much about details as long as the "blazon" is right. Mistake in the coat of arms[edit]

  • Correct version

  • Incorrect svg

  • new svg

Please fix the faults of the svg version...

  • There should be a red circle.
  • The position of the oil rig, tractor should be rearranged.
  • The yellow colour should be darker.
