This workshop is part of the Graphics Lab, a project aimed at picture retouching to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. This specific page is the requests page for the Video and Sound Workshop. Anyone can make a request for a video or sound to be improved. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

Video drehen[edit]
Seit September sind Uploads von meinem Smartphone auf Dropbox (früher problemlos) meist verdreht. Sie werden auf dem Smartphone und in Irfanview richtig angezeigt, müssen aber manuell gedreht werden, was ich bei Fotos natürlich selbst kann. Dieses Video von Kloster Seeon soll unter CC0 auf Commons. kann mir jemand eine Lösung des Dropbox-Problems sagen, das Video drehen, in ein Commonsformat konvertieren und evtl. einen Tipp für eine einfache Videobearbeitungssoftware geben? - Hat es da zuvor eventuell ein Update für die Videoapp/Betriebsystem des Smartphons gegeben? Wenn man sich mittels MediaInfo die Dateieigenschaften deines Videos anzeigen lässt, wird Rotation : 90° angezeigt. Ob dies dann beim Abspielen oder einer Formatumwandlung wie gewünscht in eine Bilddrehung am PC/TV umgesetzt wird, hängt vom jeweiligen Wiedergabeprogrammm ab. Videobearbeitung kannst du entweder direkt auf dem Handy oder am PC machen. Zum Schnitt per App kann ich nicht viel sagen (keine eigene Erfahrung), beim PC müsstest du mal dein Betriebssystem angeben. Umwandeln zu WebM (und gegebenenfalls drehen) kannst du z.B. mittels einer ffmpeg-Batchdatei erledigen, hochgeladen wird dann wie bei Bildern auch. --Pristurus (talk) 16:35, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Rotating a video[edit]
Swiss railway clock in need of rotation

- Hi everyone; I've come across this video through de:Schweizer Bahnhofsuhr where it was added but later removed because it's flipped 90 degrees to the right. It's currently also used in English and Portuguese Wikipedia. I was told at the Village Pump that this is the place to request a rotation :-) - Speravir also pointed to an instruction on how to rotate videos, so I could probably do it myself, but as this is the first such case I've come across in all the years here and it will probably remain a rare one, I would like to leave it to someone who's already using the tools :-) --Gestumblindi (talk) 19:52, 19 October 2017 (UTC)

- @Pristurus: Thanks, though this issue with thumbnail generation doesn't make the video very appealing in the Wikipedia articles where it's used, such as en:Swiss railway clock... no thumbnail preview now... Gestumblindi (talk) 19:06, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

- I took it in pretty low lighting (and in slow motion to boot); if this were a still image, I'd use auto-levels or the like, but my efforts to brighten the video have all come out wrong. There's some balance of brightness, contrast and gamma that makes sense here; I just haven't found it yet. --grendel|khan 01:05, 26 March 2018 (UTC)
