Description
English: On 11th September 1854 out-of-date Russian ships were flooded. Thus access to the Sevastopol bay to enemy fleet was blocked. This dramatic situation is part of the defense of Sevastopol (1854–1855). The Monument to Flooded ships has been built in 1905. The sculptor of this monument is Amandus Adamson.
Français : Monument aux navires coulés de Sébastopol. Le 11 Septembre 1854 des bateaux russes désaffectés ont été coulés dans la rade de Sébastopol pour bloquer l'accès aux flottes ennemies. Cette stratégie a participé à la défense de ce port durant la guerre de Crimée (1854–1855). Ce monument bâti en 1905 a été sculpté par Amandus Adamson.
Русский: Памятник затопленным кораблям. 11 сентября 1854 года были затоплены устаревшие российские корабли, которые таким образом перекрыли доступ в Севастопольскую бухту неприятелю.
