Description |
English: East portal of the now-abandoned Torpantau Tunnel in the traditional county of Brecknockshire (now part of Powys). The tunnel,opened in 1863 and decommissioned in 1964 is 609 m in length and at an altitude of 400 m was the highest standard-gauge railway tunnel in the British Isles.
