General[edit]
- Use {{copyrighted-Layout}} or {{other License-Layout}} for your table's layout or use {{license}} instead of a table.
- Your template should be metadata-compatible.
- Your template should be documented.
- Your template must be in one or more license tag categories.
Optional[edit]
- Your template adds a category to files it is used on and allow other templates to override this category, e.g. using <includeonly>{{{category|[[Category:My license]]}}}</includeonly>.
- List your template at Commons:Copyright tags.
Translation[edit]
- Some template-texts are translated through translatewiki.net using MediaWiki messages there. This requires contacting someone with the right connections there or submitting a patch against Extension:WikimediaMessages (Gerrit • Phabricator • GitHub) and getting it reviewed.
