Bonjour, j'ai initié une "Category:Collection Georges Sirot" pour les photos de ce fond récupérées sur Gallica, je ne suis pas sûr de la bonne désignation in english et voit qu'il y aurait beaucoup de fichiers Commons à y mettre. peut-être y aurait il un robot qui pourrait le faire ? Tips for museum shoot[edit]
Hi! :) I'm going to visit Athens soon and we're going to the National Museum. I'll be bringing my camera, so I was wondering if you had any tips on how to shoot good images in there. We're not allowed to use tripods, correct? Have you any tips on camera settings or other tricks? --Peulle (talk) 17:09, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

- Welcome on my talk page and thanks for message and interest.
- I'm afraid there is no special tip for pictures in museum, which is, from my point of view, one of the most difficult category of photographs.
- Just try and retry, with various settings (the famous "compromise triangle"). In Athens (what a good idea for a trip !!), in the National archaeological museum, there are various type of lights in the rooms, so you have to change your settings for every photograph. I don't remember if tripod is allowed or not, but as I came from France by air, I did not carry it with me in the plane. Anyway, my pictures are taken without any tripod. You can try to put your camera just "on" the glass (touching), but...it is forbidden.
- You don't know how many photos go to the trash-bin when post processing home, once back !!
- Since my last "campaign" in the archaeological museum of Athens, I've got a different camera, better in interior. But I've not try it there.
- Beware: museums close very early in Greece (3pm or so)
- Oh yes, a tip: wear a black shirt without stripes neither designs or so, because of the reflexion in the glasses ! I experienced very bad surprises.
- Sorry for not helping very much, but if you need tips about Greece in general and Athens in particular, please don't hesitate to ask. We felt in love with this country, and we are now on the way to buy a vacancy house there...
- You can ask our greek friend C messier too, It happens very often that I my steps follow his steps (Chalkida, recently).
- Anyway, enjoy your trip (by the way: 28 october is one of the two national days in Greece, museum entrances are for free !)

- Thanks for the tips - I'll remember to wear black clothing. :) I have been to the museum before (it's an annual school trip) and tripods were definitely not allowed. That's common for museums, so I guess I'll try turning up the ISO instead. --Peulle (talk) 10:09, 17 September 2017 (UTC)

Hallo Jebulon, inzwischen glaube ich verstanden zu haben, was ein wertvolles Bild und ein aussagekräftiger, aber kurzer Scope ist. Schau Dir dazu bitte dieses Foto an. Das ist offenbar das, was wir in den Commons brauchen und auszeichnen. Bisher hatte ich geglaubt, es sollten in erster Linie seltene Bilder sein, eventuell Fotos, die nicht wiederholbar sind. Wenn ich trotzdem neuere Bilder vorstellte, waren es Fotos von interessanten Objekten oder Personen, von denen es keine anderen oder nur wenige in den Commons gibt. Aber das war falsch gedacht. Man muss nur irgendetwas fotografieren, speziell dafür eine Kategorie einrichten, und schon ist es „useful und best in scope“. Again, your picture is valuable by itself, even maybe as a FP... Definition of "Scope" is the main issue, and I was often upset too, regarding my own nominations. Je voulais savoir pourquoi ils demandent une licence payante pour réutiliser les fichiers alors qu'ils sont dans le domaine public et librement réutilisable ? Animal sculpture in Parc Monceau[edit]
Bonjour Jebulon Do you know the author (sculptor) of the animal bronzes in Parc Monceau. One I remember is of a large cat (leopard perhaps) whose cub has been killed by a snake (reminiscent of this bronze in Brussels .Better do you have any photos of these wonderful works. On the day I was there my Nikon had run out of film. I can follow French but sadly writing it is more difficult.Notafly (talk) 19:25, 31 March 2018 (UTC) PS The artist may be Georges Gardet. PPS It is (wrong park) the sculpture is titled Drama in the Desert and it is in Parc Montsouris. It is a photographic challenge I am sure you would welcome maybe on a wet day.French art at its best which may be said of your own classic shots.

Licence sur retouche[edit]
Hello, il me semble qu'il y a un petit problème sur la licence de tes téléversements de photographies retouchées de Nadar. Il s'agit de dérivations d'originaux qui sont dans le domaine public. La simple restauration de l'image ne crée pas des droits patrimoniaux sur l'image. Il n'est donc pas approprié de mettre ces images sous licence CC-0, comme si tu étais l'auteur et que l’œuvre de Nadar n'était pas dans le domaine public. - Il est évident que je ne revendique aucun droit d'aucune sorte (ni patrimonial ni moral) sur aucune de ces images, et j'ajoute que je me f... impérialement (mes bonhommes sont plutôt "Second Empire") de ces histoires qui sont le cadet de mes soucis.
