GPS serial and PPS for Raspberry Pi.
Takes an AdaFruit Ultimate GPS module and connects RX and TX to the GPIO serial pins (optionally - solder jumpers to disconnect them are on the board), the PPS output to GPIO 18, adds a CR1220 battery clip on the bottom for warm-start, a U.FL connector for an external GPS antenna and a FIX LED.

A battery powered GPS reverse geocache backpack.
This version corrects a minor problem in the prototype that prevents programming with the LCD attached. It should be fully functional.
Power draw from two 1.5 volt primary cells is 150 mA when operating, 1 mA standby. With AA alkaline batteries, that should be a combination of 10 hours operating or 90 days standby.

The GPS module is the Adafruit Ultimate GPS module.

No more AA batteries!
Replace the AA batteries in your Apple Magic Trackpad with this board. Solder a short, stiff wire to the + terminal at the front end to contact the positive terminal inside the trackpad. Connect another longer stiff wire to the - terminal at the back end and wedge the wire in the channels near the outside to make the negative contact. Connect USB power to the two power input terminals in the middle. Run the cable out the back and replace Apple’s metal plug with a cork.
