Could be useful depending on the behavior of your projector I guess.

#2 Re: Tips, Tricks and Tutorials » Syscall Shutter on HDMI » 2017-06-07 17:18:42

Hi,

I now understand that most people use LCD's as masks.
For me however, I use the stock backlight (Daylight resin).

The shutter trick does not make sense when using the LCD as a mask.
But could be useful for projectors?

Anyway the operation takes 1 s to turn on, and instant shutdown.

Hi,

I found a way to enable / disable HDMI (shutter) through syscall on Linux Raspberry Pi and I would like to share it.
(I am using a LCD as a curing source)

Insert this is your "Shutter Open Gcode" and Shutter Close Gcode, and give it go.

[[Exec vcgencmd display_power 1]]
[[Exec vcgencmd display_power 0]]

Cheers

Hi,

Shahin, is there any progress on this?

Martin, you can already create timelaps vide using execute field on nanodlp and raspistill.

Hi,

Could you please give me an example on a command-sequence using the execute field?

Is it known, or should I upload a log?

This is interesting and I will do experiments and post my results.

#10 Re: Help and Support » Pixel dimming » 2016-12-09 23:38:22

I really need to try this.

My printer uses a very light sensitive Resin (Photocentric Daylight).
I print from stock LCD (iPad4) which has major view angle (good for viewing not good for printing).

@Shahain
Do you believe that the XY bleeding could be mitigated with this feature turned on?
(and preserve details)? Or are we talking about something else here.

Hi,

I'm interested in making a Timelaps video from my snapshots taken through my rpicam.
As for now I can see the stills appearing 1 for each layer.

Would someone be nice to make a educational instruction (including all steps) on how to make this happen?
PS. please explain how to download the video as well (stored in some public shared folder on linux or ... ?)

Step 1 - ....
Step 2 - ....

Much appreciated.

Hi,

Which slicer do you use?

Creation Workshop can't slice at a custom resolution.
SLAcer.js is very slow and can't handle large files.
The internal slicer in NanoDLP is quite slow also on rpi.

Anyone using something else you could recommend?

Hi,

Could someone explain what pixeldimming is and why it's important.
I read the Help section "?" but I don't really understand.

This feature would have following effects by dimming pixels.
Prevent over-cure.
Preserve details.
Make it possible to use one profile/cure time for pieces with any thickness.
Increase your PDMS life time.

Recommended Settings

Dimming Type
Checkerboard
Dimming Amount
35%
Wall Around Dimmed Area in Pixel
3 - Depends on x/y resolution
Skip Layers
5 - To have stronger support structure, turns off this feature for number of layer

I also googled it but found no material ...

#15 Re: Bug Reports » Slicer makes hollows » 2016-09-23 05:49:07

Hi,

@DLprinter
First I already mentioned SLAcer.js in post before, and it's not without problems it's quite slow and does not handle large files well.
I mentioned it as a comparison, to differentiate the issues (triangles flipping), or to reuse code (on GITHUB) not a competition.
Second, Anti-alising is available just go in on NanoDLP.com and read on the heading "Higher Quality Prints"

Although I agree that NanoDLP should be mentioned as one best free 3D printing systems .... This is a "Ticket / Issue" and lets focus on matter at hand.

#16 Re: Bug Reports » Slicer makes hollows » 2016-09-22 08:58:37

This one works to (http://lautr3k.github.io/SLAcer.js/)

The nano DLP seems to get confused about the normals I guess.
One option would be to have an export option for SLAcer.js to NanoDLP since you get the graphical overview this way before printing.

PS.
I understand that you are working on something similar on your own perhaps?

#17 Re: Bug Reports » Slicer makes hollows » 2016-09-21 17:33:21

I have a "similar" problem.
Polygons seems to be flipping back and forth.

No problems with Creation Workshop

Objects seems to manifold

Please try to slice the model (50 mic) with NanoNanoDLP ....

#18 Re: Help and Support » Mirror Projected image » 2016-09-05 06:58:36

Ok, I see.

I might have found a solution ... in rpi : config.txt one could apparently add : display_rotate=0x10000
This should flip in X and to filp Y (mirror) one could use  : display_rotate=0x20000

Makes me think that I could flip both using : display_rotate=0x30000

Will try it later today.

This would hopefully not strain the processor of the RPI

#19 Re: Help and Support » Mirror Projected image » 2016-09-05 06:28:37

It's not really a projector (I only wrote that to use the same terminology NanoDLP uses).
I use a iPad-LCD driven through a displaydriver (not possible to do any settings).

I was looking for something found in Creation Workshop .... Flip X and Flip Y in the "Setup" section.

And I would like to flip my XY axis on the projector, how do I do that?

#21 Re: Bug Reports » Build 1220 - Cant Abort / Stop print » 2016-09-02 08:41:17

Debuglog found in the beginning of the thread

#22 Re: Bug Reports » Build 1220 - Cant Abort / Stop print » 2016-09-01 07:30:32

After many experiments I found that NanoDLPs started prints can't be stopped if [[WaitForDoneMessage]] can't be delivered.
This is not optimal, and force stop from setup page does not help.

I would recommend to check for "Stop" criteria in the [[WaitForDoneMessage]] loop.

#23 Help and Support » Printer speed (Z axis movement) » 2016-09-01 07:25:27

Hi,

My Z axis seems to move at the speed set in Marlin independent of the settings I do in NanoDLP.
This concerns both "Z axis calibration" AND printing from plates.

Usually printer speed is set like G1 Z2 FXXX (where XXX is the speed).
This does not seem to be the case if I look through the terminal and look at the Gcode that NanoDLP executes (produces).

I may have misunderstood how this works, please explain.

#24 Re: Feature Requests » Hostname » 2016-08-26 09:31:00

Ah ok, sorry I thought it did.

I'm out of suggestions smile

#25 Re: Bug Reports » Build 1220 - Cant Abort / Stop print » 2016-08-26 08:50:09

I successfully ported my commands to the muve3d version of Marlin.
(All my commands work, and I get the response z_move_comp) on z axis movements.

I only need to re-configure my printer-profiles again to verify that it works.
Then I will close this Bug Report.
