Please, c'mon guys, it such a frustrating problem. I crash my printer all the time and students do that as well...
You just have to reset current position after hitting endstop on Z axis calibration page and problem will be solved.
version 1529
Hi,
when I am in Z axis calibration page and if I hit "Floor", after it reaches bottom endstop, current position is not reseted and thus if I push 50mm up, it will go <previous highest point> + <my current 50mm>. But if I hit endstop and go to terminal and send M114 (to report current Z position) and then go back to Z axis calibration, current position is then reseted (just going to terminal and going back to Z axis calibration does not reset it).
Thanks
Sorry, issue was wrong relative/absolute movement settings. Changing that seems to work.
Have tried to change firmware completely: uploaded raw Marlin - issue remains...
Hi,
I have been struggling for a few days now, with some weird issue...
I am using Marlin-mUVe1DLP firmware. The problem is that, each time I turn on nanoDLP with RPI and go to Z Axis calibration, it messes up directions: if I click to move UP by 10mm, it goes DOWN by 10mm (or even for more than 10mm) or does nothing, and if I say go DOWN 10mm, it decides to go UP 10mm (or even more). All of this is solved, when I click "Floor" (or Home), it goes down, hits endstop and after that, directions are OK for a while. But even after that, sometimes GCode commands to control Z axis (G1) does not work... I try to run those commands via terminal, but not luck either.
The issue here is that... since it misses directions, my endstop in some cases does not work: it thinks it is going UP, whereas it actually goes down. So even after it hits endstop (which is bottom endstop), it continues going down and damages entire printer and shatters LCD...
When I tried the same thing with Repetier - no issues. Directions are OK, M119 shows correct endstop status.
It is really scary to use that in such way, since I also do not know, how to reduce homing speed and after hitting home, it can literally very quickly damage machine.
P.S. tried to disconnect endstop - still the same issue. Issue applies not even with Z Axis calibration, but running same commands via terminal...
Any suggestions what can be wrong?
If anyone faces this issue, I end up scanning my local network with IP scanner, getting RPI3 IP address and I was able to connect to nanoDLP via browser by entering IP directly. Dashboard does not see my device, but via browser it works fine.
Hi,
I am trying to setup my NanoDLP, but I am a bit confused with these variables that are used by NanoDLP. Could someone explain me briefly the workflow, how these changes and what is the difference among them (especially LayerPosition and CurrentPosition). Because I do not really get now, what is the workflow of these variables and how and when they change and the impact of that change to the process.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks. I will try to do this when I get back to my office. Thanks for reply. I will inform about my progress.
Hi,
I am struggling all day to run my printer with NanoDLP, but no success. I am new to PI, so bear with me. Here is what I have done so far:
1. Installed everything using advanced installation (I want to see what is done).
1.1. During this stage, internet connection works fine on my PI 3. I can browse, etc.
2. I launched setup script and everything went fine, system rebooted and screen went black (now I know, that is is good thing).
3. But I do not see my printer in dashboard. It is connected using LAN cable (not WIFI, since mine is 5ghz which AFAIK is not supported). My laptop is also connected to the same network using LAN cable (i.e. it is not connected to WIFI).
So I looked at installation script and noticed that network configuration files are modified, so I modified network-configuration file so that PI uses static IP, entered SM and GW. I pinged that IP to make sure that is not in use (I do all of this stuff at university, its network). But then, when system restarts, I still cannot see my printer in dashboard. Moreover, since I am new, I do not know, how to get back to PI UI again (since now black screen starts everytime), so I reinstall raspbian everytime... sorry if it is not very wise, but is was fastest solution I managed to find.
BY THE WAY. When I downloaded application and executed binary file alone (without running setup script), I was able to see my printer in dashboard (i.e. I am not sure if that makes sense, but I think I just accidentally executed that file before setup script...)
Any ideas? It is frustrating.
