How to get that unbeatable Tangled Tut score

Shaun working on Tangled Tut scoring system

We’ve all been trying to beat each other’s top scores on the Tangled Tut internal testing build here in the 3D Pioneer office. Since some of us are sore losers, we’ve had to interrogate our technical team behind the game to find out just how these scores are evaluated.

The answer, in short, is that the top scores are bagged by collecting all of the gold scarabs while finishing a level as quickly as possible. Greed and speed are critical to a world-class performance, but it’s a bit more complicated than that.

Here are the facts collected from our technical team:

• Every gold scarab collected will award a player with 100 points
• Every second you shave off the expected completion time of a level will increase your score by 200 points
• There are 4 achievements that you can achieve, each giving you an additional 500 points

  1. Complete the level within the time allocation
  2. Collect all the scarabs
  3. Use no more than the allocated bandage swings
  4. Get a 3 pyramid score

The number of pyramids you will receive is based on your score in relation to the maximum achievable score.

• 75% – 100% = 3 pyramids
• 50% – 74% = 2 pyramids
• 25% – 49% = 1 pyramid
• 0% – 24% = Restart the level and try harder – No pyramids for you!

With the introduction of our global leader board and rewarding system, this blog post becomes of even greater significance in helping you claim that unbeatable score!

We are proud to be (to the best of our knowledge) the first mobile game to reward our gamers’ performances with actual real life prizes! We plan on rewarding our top overall scorer with a 3D printed model of the chosen favourite in-game character every month.

* Please note that this implemented system is currently in testing and may be slightly adapted by time of official launch, if it does we will release a follow up blog post with changes and reasons for them.
