Several companies now develop and market high-performance 3D printing extruders. Poland-based Tytan 3D is one of them.
Tytan 3D produces the all-aluminum Goliat extruder, which is suitable for both 1.75 and 3.00mm filaments. The extruder is designed to easily fit into several existing 3D printer designs, including the popular Bowden method. Spokesperson Janusz Wójcik says:
The Goliat extruder is driven by a NEMA 17 stepper motor and supports 1.75 mm and 3 mm filaments. It is fully assembled and features J-Head hot end which is machined from a solid piece of metal, making it highly reliable, and long lasting. The extruder has also space for mounting a 40 mm x 40 mm fan.
What’s interesting is the price: only USD$50.
They’re hoping to generate more interest in their product by launching a crowdfunding campaign later this year that should bring knowledge of the product to a much larger audience.
We hear they’re also developing multi-material 3D printers in their labs, so we may hear more about that soon, too.
