All images in this category could be recreated using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}. |
Purpose[edit]
English: This is a category for vowel charts that haven't yet been vectorized, and should be. After vectorizing one of them, please move the raster version to Category:Vowel charts obsoleted by SVG replacement, so that it's easier to keep track of the ones that haven't yet been vectorized.
Guidelines for vectorizing[edit]
English: ·
- For standard trapezium-shaped vowel diagrams, use this SVG template, File:IPA vowel trapezium.svg:
- vowel dot size of about 36 pixels looks good with it
- use DejaVu Serif font at 52–60 point size to maintain consistency with other charts (remember that MediaWiki cannot render proprietary fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, etc.)
