Description |
English: Spectra of individual color phosphors of a typical CRT video monitor. Spectra are NOT normalized and were taken by displaying completely saturated pure colors in an image editing application which was then sampled using an Ocean Optics HR2000 spectrometer [1] with a high-OH solarization-resistant fiber optic light guide. Note that there is some overlap of very strong spectral peaks onto the other spectra and I suspect that this is due to electrons "bleeding over" into adjacent colored phosphor dots, as focussing of the electron beams is not perfect in a CRT. The light from the red phosphor appears to affect the spectra of the green and blue phosphors much more than either the blue or green affect eachothers spectra or the red spectrum. Spectra taken by me. Data for spectra is on the talk page. This spectrum is not calibrated for intensity. This new version is in the PNG format and is the exact same quality as the original but with a smaller file size.
