Upgrading Kernel & Camera Streaming

Postby JTeagle » Sat Apr 05, 2014 8:34 am

Hi Alan. As you may remember, I have the mini robot kit. All has been going well, save for one thing: I followed advice on a web site to upgrade the kernel, but since I have done that the video streaming from the web page doesn't work - I get the broken image icon again. Wheels turn and pan / tilt operate as normal. I can also tell you that raspistill still takes a perfectly good snapshot, so the camera is still working. It just seems to be the streaming that broke.

It's not a problem for me as I'm not in a position to need streaming at this time, but I just wanted to mention it so that it can be investigated.

Thank you.

Cheers, a number of people have reported that the camera streaming doesn't seem to work, or gets extremely slow when using the latest verion of Raspbian. In this post, one user found that moving the tmp folder out of RAM made streaming quicker, but that seems slightly counter intuitive. :P

I've put a new issue on the camera robot repository to get streaming working with the latest version of Raspbian.
