Camera stopped...

Out of the blue the camera stopped working... any clues?

Umm, hard to say really.

Does the red light still come on when you try to connect? One thing to try might be using the comand line tools raspistil and raspvid to see if they give any more details.

Could possibly be the cable pulling loose if it's snagged on the pan/tilt unit.

Yes, the red light is still on when connected to robot and remains on... I will use the command line tool and let you know the results. I will double check the camera cable ribbon just in case...
