This board incorporates a RedBearLab BLE Nano as well as a Pololu DRV8835 dual motor driver to drive 2 DC motors via Bluetooth. This is great when you want compact wireless capability for a small robot. Here is a summary of its functionalities:

  • Board power can be separate from the motor power in the case where the voltages are different. Add jumper to link motor power to the main board power.

  • Power switch + power indication LED

  • 2 screw terminals for motor outputs

  • Pins D4 - D7 on the BLE Nano control the motors

  • The rest of the BLE Nano pins are broken out to the side of the BLE Nano as female headers. Before use, D4 - D7 must be soldered to the board (this can be done fairly easily with a 5-wire ribbon cable)

  • 2 LED headers are connected to pin A4 (note that the appropriate current-limiting resistors must be chosen)
