555 Metal Detector SMD
Not the best Metal Detector on the market, but OK for a but of fun.
Just Google ‘555 metal detector’ and you’ll find the circuit diagram and more information.
Component sizes: IC1 - SOIC8, R1 - 0805 (47k), C1/C2 - 3216 (2.2uF), C3 - 3528 (10uF)
Coil should be 10mH
Speaker should be 8ohm

Just solder on some DB9’s and away you go.
Only pins 2 (CAN LO) and 7 (CAN HI) are connected on the DB9’s (i.e. no power or ground) and you can use either Male for Female DB9’s so you can join a couple in series if you like.

Moteino Shield Includes: - Bridge rectifier and cap bank for 24VAC power input. -DC/DC converter -FTDI chip for USB/Serial -3 “Grove” connectors for I2C. - oops, just realized it’s missing SDA/SCL pull-ups. I’ll have to add those.
