SxSW

The South by Southwest (SxSW) Conferences and Festivals offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. We were proud to participate in the event.

We felt better in the over reaction of visitors like; "So Cooool!", "Awesome!", and so on. We were able to answer even willing to little unreasonable request.

Kickstarter

We have launched PLEN2 (a robot kit consisting control boards, servomotors, and accessories that you can put together yourself) on Kickstarter.

Our aim is to open up the relationship between humans and technology through printable and open-source robot kit, PLEN2. We do not believe that robots should replace people but that they should complement our abilities. We strongly believe that scientific technology can enrich everyone in society, if we embrace it in a positive manner. We are very small team. Thus, we need your help to build PLEN2, bring it to the world, and to grow the community. Please support us in our goal for a tomorrow where everyone can make his/her own humanoid robot. Let's humanize technology!

CBS "The Amazing Race"

The Amazing Race is a popular reality television game show, which earned nine Emmy Awards for the seventh consecutive year from 2003 to 2009 for an "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program". PLEN appeared in episode 9 of season 12. Participants were challenged to a soccer game using mobile phones to operate Plen. First place prize for the participants of this program was 120 million yen at that time! Not only participants, even robots and staff must abide by the strict rules for fairness. Consequently, there was a tense atmosphere while they were shooting the TV show.

They spent a lot of money while they were in Osaka like; they reserved one whole floor of a big hotel in Osaka for one month and rented 40 cars for the shooting. A Large‐scale of shooting with a huge budget, that was literally "Amazing".

Apple Store

In this event, we provided the experience of operating PLEN to children who visited the Apple store. (@Shinsaibashi, Shibuya, Sendai, Sapporo) Don't you think PLEN has very good chemistry with the design concept of the Apple company? Everyone was able to have a great time at this event.
