Enable / Disable Stepper Motor

It would be nice to provide the user with the ability to disable the stepper motor with a simple button in the Z axis interface page. This would be beneficial for manual calibrations of the platen and / or disabling the stepper motor when it will not be used for longer periods of time.

We are running over step direction and enable pins via the GPIO. Just need the enable pin to have the ability to be flipped (without going to the setup page)

Re: Enable / Disable Stepper Motor

Johnson,

I had plan to enable/disable motor before/after print or movements. But concerns about losing hard to measure micro step prevent me to implement it.
Actually if somebody could test and make sure it would cause step loss, I would love to add it.

Toggling enable/disable pin is a nice feature. But if we implement above feature, this feature would not be needed.

Re: Enable / Disable Stepper Motor

If it is reverse, change "Enable GPIO State" value.
