It would be great if I can just add a some solid rectangles to fix a bad model.
For example I have 4 layers that need adjustment but I will need to revisit the 3D model fix then upload back to nanodlp for slicing instead of drawing a couple shapes for 4 layers and calling it a day.

Thanks that worked. That makes sense since it has a memory limit of 1gb of ram. I will look into swap disk and see if I can offload it to a ssd or something..

but I am thinking it just the underpowered pi that cannot handle large files. I may look into the linux version on a proper machine.. otherwise I just need to slice on my desktop.

#4 Help and Support » Raspberry Pi 3 Cannot access through network only works via ssh » 2017-03-24 05:00:21

I uploaded a large 1.5gb stl to slice to see what happens. It crashed the pi. When I reboot I have access through web address for 30-40 secs of time then I lose connection again. I think it is low on memory or possibly disk space (8gb card with this STL and NanoDLP only)
I have access through SSH at anytime.. I tried sudo killall printer but it says no process found.

I do have time to delete the STL plate before I lose access but it does not delete it just wants to slice it no matter how many times I try to delete before losing access. I think my only option is to reinstall NanoDLP. I have had this problem with deleting large STL's before so it seems to happen time to time.

anyone else have this issue?

Edit:

Some Pi info while I have access:

Memory is fine:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ free -h
total used free shared buffers cached

#5 Re: Help and Support » Bought new Servo does not seem to work - HS-5065MG » 2017-03-23 19:07:22

Figured it out. My Pulse width was off. I found a spec sheet online and it works fine now.

Servo Pulse Width - Open
2100

Servo Pulse Width - Close
900

Servo Signal Length
1500 (This one I guessed but it seems to work)

I bought a HS-5065MG servo motor to see if I could reduce audible noise and stutter when using the shutter on my projector. I cannot seem to get it to work. It moves once then stops working.
My previous Servo works fine: TowerPro's SG1050 although super loud and stutters..

The specs seem similar so I am unsure how to get it to work. I am powering it off a USB cable plugged into a powerbar. The Signal is running through Raspberry pi3

Running this on the mUVe3D Ultipro+

Using Gcodes from mUVe3D's settings:

Shutter open:
M280 P2 S160
Shutter closed:
M280 P2 S10

Servo Pulse Width Open
1400

Servo Pulse Width Close
700

Servo Signal Length
1000

Thanks I will ask in the Slic3r forum. I do not see any options for that. It would be great feature if NanoDLP had a "start at layer" feature.
Even some of my models that are a bit skewed at the base by a very small amount could benefit from starting at layer 1 or 2 then layer 0...

Hi Shahin,
I am using Slic3r to generate the SVG but Slic3r appears to use the model's lowest zero point instead of the stl's zero. So I am uploading a SVG to NanoDLP.
I am not sure if nanoDLP slices the models at 0 point or if it uses the lowest point as zero. I haven't tried it since the model I am using has a high poly count.

I can PM you the model or svg.

Same as the title. Anyway of doing this? Does the resume function just resume a print but not start a print at that level allowing for burn in time?
I am finding half my prints are messed at the first level since I use b9creators software to generate supports. Sometimes the supports poke through the bottom and I don't notice causing the print to have the first few layers blank..

Bonus question. Is there a way to edit the svg after it's sliced to remove the first couple layers or edit? I noticed in adobe illustrator it comes in as layers. Can I just delete layers and resave and it will work or do I need to rename the layers? I suppose I should experiment.

#10 Re: Help and Support » Arduino reset after Resin Drain Tilt 20mm command » 2016-05-31 01:50:05

Thanks I will try it next time. I couldn't figure it out in time so I just recalibrated. Someone else suggested turning off the arduino send the tilt command turn back on the arduino and send return from tilt.. a bit of a workaround but sounds like it might work to.

My Arduino reset just after the tilt command so it is stuck in that position. Anyway of returning from tilt? The command doesn't work I presume it needs to have the Resin Drain command first to allow it to return. Anyway of fixing this without manually putting the plate back in the correct position and recalibrating.

It appears to be working now. I think I pushed update after everything failed so it was a bit buggy. Seems fine now with the latest version. Is there a updated change log somewhere?

I am not sure what happened since I am new but my print seemed like it was working but as soon as it hit 112 layer it stalled and opened the shutter to 16x9 image and just stayed projected. I couldnt stop the print either. It still wont let me stop it or move z axis, shutter after rebooting. I deleted the plate and nothing seems to work. I will need to reinstall it seems.
