What is this function for? Print a base as big as the printing area as first layer?
Offline
It is a feature for users who are printing couple of pieces together. They can disable parts of a plate.

ah great now I need to use this for a partial failed print plate. is there any documentation on how to use it properly?
Thanks!

It is easy to use. Just keep left mouse click down it will draw a rectangle. Press add when you were satisfied. Add any number of rectangles and save.
Offline
rectangles=layers you want to keep the blackout?
Offline
Blackout rectangles will be persistent for the all layers. Changing layer at the top merely for navigating and correctly drawing rectangles.

Gotcha, ty!

I have two objects on my plate, one on one side and one on the other. I draw blackout over one side of the plate to keep one object from printing. I do a recreate (is that necessary)? In any case, both objects are still sliced and showing in layers after the recreate. I do a dry print and both objects are still being imaged?

Blackout works in realtime. That means the software will generate them just before using them.

...but the parts were still being projected when I did a dry run? They were on a damaged part of the LCD so they could have been "less projected" but they were projected. Just to be sure I will try again once the printer is idle.
Offline
Are you sure you have saved after adding black boxes?
Offline
Just validated with a dry run...yes I did a save but the area that I added the black box for was projected (or LCD'ed).
