The BerryClip+ 6 LED Board is the all new enhanced version of the popular BerryClip add-on board for the Raspberry Pi. As well as being a fetching shade of orange, this new version of the board provides an extra button and a row of break out pins for the unused GPIO pins of the Pi. This last feature is especially useful, as it means that the BerryClip+ can interface to the outside world whilst at the same time providing buttons for input, and LEDs and a buzzer for output and status updates.
The simple combination of lights, switch and buzzer is a perfect introduction to software and hardware interfacing. There are plenty of example Python scripts available so once assembled you can get your board working in minutes.

Note: The board is sold as a kit of parts which must be soldered together.

This was a small project to feed my 10 year daughter interest in electronics.
As her first time soldering she found it straight forward (took an hour and a half including initial soldering instruction - ie this is the hot end - hold it by the cold end!)
After mounting it on the PI she found the small test programs easy to run and understand and happily it worked first time as her solders were good.
We intend using the board as an addon to the PI as simple LED progress indicators and audio (buzzer) signals when the pi is not connected to a monitor.
The only negative side to it, was it took a little bit of working out to confirm it definitely fit at the 0 pin of the PI interface - it seemed obvious that it should but no where in the instructions did it confirm it.

My sons and I put this together and spent hours making lights flash and buzzers sound with the testing software. Now we have the task of programming it ourselves.
Quick and efficient service, Thanks
