For the Raven Node.

Bill of Materials

The following are needed to assemble one Raven Node. The minimum PCB purchase from OSH Park will be for three circuit boards; however, the rest of the components are for a single Raven:

  • Raven PCB from OSH Park, note this should be 2 oz copper fill to support high current draw from the servos
  • Shared cart of components from Digi-Key
  • One Teensy 3.2 from Osh Park

The total cost is approximately $48 for one Raven Node or $105 for three.

Known Issues

  • The connector spacing for UART, Digital, Analog, and I2C is too tight to allow for TE Connectivity Amp connectors, so straight breakaway headers are used instead
  • The trace for 5V supply to the UART and I2C connectors is small, only low current modules should be used
  • The silkscreen for Servo Power Polarity is obscured by the screw terminal block

Pika v1.1

2 layer board of 2.12x2.82 inches (53.95x71.73 mm).

For the Pika Flight Management Unit.

Bill of Materials

The following are needed to assemble one Pika Flight Management Unit. The minimum PCB purchase from OSH Park will be for three circuit boards; however, the rest of the components are for a single Pika:

The total cost is approximately $92 for one Pika FMU or $215 for three.

Known Issues

  • 5V supplied to MPU-9250 instead of the recommended 3.3V. Does not appear to affect operation.
  • The silkscreen for GPS, TELEM, and the BFS Bus are partially obscured by the connectors
  • The mounting hole diameter is 0.3 mm diameter oversize for an M3 standoff. The mounts will still work; however, because the BeagleBone Black headers set the board alignment and the hole center locations are correct.
