Quark EDC Triple v05

for any foursevens quark and a triple 20mm Noctigon with 3 different emitters-

  • Red XP-E2 for moonlight
  • White Nichia 219 for medium modes with very high CRI
  • White XP-L for more light (like a turbo but not just a single mode)

The red XP and the Nichia are the main emitters (head loose), because of the limited capacity of currently available 17650’s a low drive current is used for extended runtime, tighten the head and the FET turns on to run the XP-L at higher current for “turbo”.

Red will turn off above moonlight however both white emitters will run with the head tight. Moonlight (red) operates in either head loose or head tight modes and will only be on by its self (regardless of head state). EVEN WITH HEAD TIGHT (TURBO) ALL MODES STILL WORK!! “Turbo” simply adds in the second white emitter (the XP-L), it runs in tandem with the N219 using PWM dimming!

This concept can be used on any light with anodized head threads however its to large for a 17mm driver compartment, will need sized down for other lights.

LIR2450 USB Charger v1.2

Based on MCP73831. Beware not tested (yet).

There are two charge modes:

  • fast (45mA)
  • slow (25mA)

Max charge current for a coin cell is usually between 80% and two third of it’s capacity. So you could charge a 100mA coin cell with 80mA. I wanted to increase the lifetime of my coin cells and reduced the charge current. If you want to have different currents here is the equation to calculate R_SLOW/R_FAST:

mA = 1000 / R in kΩ

Example: 1000/20kΩ = 50mA

  • MCP73831 SOT-23-5
  • 0603 LED Green (~3.1V voltage drop)
  • 0603 LED Orange (~2V voltage drop)
  • 0805 Resistor 200Ω
  • 0805 Resistor 320Ω
  • 0805 Resistor 40kΩ
  • 0805 Resistor 22kΩ
  • 0805 Capacitor 4.7uF
  • CR/LIR2450 Coin cell holder (20mm diameter, 5mm height)
  • (optional) male pin header, jst pin header

Invensense’s bottom-ported MEMS digital microphones with an embedded ASIC which directly outputs 24-bit I2S serial data without the need of a CODEC. Enlarged sound port holes. Board is intended for echo location (sonar) using the Teensy 3.x or Edison microcontrollers.
