17mm Laser contact board

Safety feature- cell inserted + end forward (like a flashlight) will reverse bias the diode and not allow current to flow. This uses the body as the + contact and the spring at the head is GND.

  • D1 is a Diode’s Inc PDS1040, rated 10A with a 490mv drop.

Be especially cautious to prevent shorts to +!

I made this as an additional safety feature- if my wife / kid’s pick up a laser not paying attention and stick a cell in like they would a flashlight nothing will happen.
