Sub-harmonic mixers Product Database

Sub-harmonic mixers are passive mixers with a subharmonically pumped local oscillator. These type of mixers achieve an ultra-high rejection between the LO port and the RF port thereby eliminating the requirement of an input isolator.

Sub-harmonic mixers are ideal for linear upconversion or modulation requirements, where the carrier rejection can be maintained at high levels. They even need the LO at half the normal frequency. They cause a reduction in conversion loss by suppressing fundamental mixing products and low noise figure. They are often used in direct signal, zero IF and communication systems in order to eliminate the undesirable effects of LO self-mixing.
