Some new radar standards require ultra-wideband frequency modulated carriers to be analysed. The wider the bandwidth, the better the resolution of the radar. For this application it is possible to use the Rohde & Schwarz FSW Signal and Spectrum Analyser with an external R&S Oscilloscope to extend the analysis bandwidth to 5GHz. Once again using the transient analysis firmware it is then possible to fully characterise all important parameters of an ultra-wide bandwidth Radar signal directly on the FSW.
