Can I get some advice about fine tuning my prints?

My printer is a bottom up, focused at 40um in XY and 25um in Z axis.
Antialias enabled.
The hole in the picture below is .5mm diameter.
The resin used is B9 Emerald, which has additives to facilitate castability, but makes it a little harder to print fine details compared to crisper resins.

To get a rounder hole, should I increase or decrease exposure times?

In a closer inspection, another STL in the plate does have minor issues, the kind that does not cause printing problems with other slicers

Modeling program reports:

This is a good mesh.

Important things to consider with this mesh:
Mesh has 50 pairs of faces that intersect each other. Although this does not
necessarily mean that the mesh is bad, it can cause problems if you're doing mesh boolean operations with it.

My modeling program reports:
General information about this mesh:
Mesh does not have any degenerate faces.
Mesh does not have any extremely short edges.
Mesh does not have any non manifold edges.
Mesh does not have any naked edges.
Mesh does not have any duplicate faces.
Mesh does not have any faces with directions different from the mesh as a whole.
Mesh does not have any self intersecting faces.
Mesh does not have any disjoint pieces.
Mesh does not have any unused vertices.

However, the nanoDLP slicer cannot detect all the contours correctly.
Luckily, nanoDLP supports SLC format.

Here are two images, first one of the sliced STL and second one of the SLC converted:

Thanks, I ll keep an eye on it.
I guess restarting is the easy way to fix it?

#32 Re: Help and Support » Resin pump » 2017-10-05 13:50:48

One thing to keep in mind, this is a brushed motor, which makes it a source of electrical noise.
Be on the lookout for loss of steps or other weird behaviours due to noise.

Replacing it with a step motor would be better IMO.

#33 Re: Help and Support » Resin pump » 2017-10-05 13:46:20

Based on what I see on the shutter open G-Code image, if you put M106 255 on the Print Stop Gcode box the pump should go off.

#34 Re: Help and Support » How to access folder "shots" via windows browser? » 2017-09-22 17:39:52

FTP is the best way for me: https://filezilla-project.org/
Although it doesn't allow you write permissions on some system folders, it is an excellent way to review folder structure and copy files.

Unfortunately, it did not work for me:

I also found out the same using Stretch:

#38 Re: Help and Support » Crashing while Slicing » 2017-08-17 07:09:50

This file has my logs after a crash and a different STL file which I have just tested to crash.
After rebooting the Pi I had to delete the erroneous plate to avoid the loop.

Here is a dropbox link:

There are no msgs before crashing, it seems like slicing is completed and nanodlp.exe shuts down abruptly.

For whoever like to reproduce this error, I forgot to mention I sliced at 25 microns.

While slicing this file on the Pi, system halts and I lose connectivity.
I tried to do the same in windows version, nanoDLP crashes as well.

Can anybody suggest what could be the issue?

#42 Re: Everything else » NanoDLP Dashboard Redesign » 2017-08-12 21:26:50

All sound good to me.
A white theme might be more easy for new users but I do like dark themes in general. Hopefully, the existing color palette will be still available.

Not related to Dashboard but related to UI:
Z Axis Calibration would make more sense named: Z Axis Control
Projector Calibration would make more sense named: Projector Control or Light Engine Control.

#43 Re: Help and Support » Build 1589 Connectivity issues » 2017-08-10 06:28:45

The issue is related to using Dynamic IP to connect. If I use direct LAN connection it is nice and fast

After updating to 1589 I experience connectivity issues, trying to upload a 25Mb STL takes forever and connection times out.
Is it just me?

I configured Dynamic DNS & port forwarding, I can access nanoDLP from the internet and its a great feature to have.
But I wonder if I have to take more measures for protection other than a strong password.

Also, what is the recommended port to use?

#50 Re: Help and Support » ATX Power Supply » 2017-04-29 18:11:45

Yes but I would like if possible, to power everything with a single PS:

- The Pi
- Stepper motor
- Light  engine, it works on 12V/ 4A
- 12V fans
- 12V proximity switch

My question is if I should be worried about electrical noise issues and if I should incorporate noise filters to counteract them.
