Hello everyone,
I am very new to the community and I am working on a SLA 3D printer project where I would like to use NanoDLP on a RaspberryPi Zero W but I do not seem to be able to find anyone who has done this already.
Is this something that can be done? If so what are the steps?
I have installed the nanoDLP release on the RPI and all I get is a black screen. If I install Raspbian and follow the instruction here (in the "Advanced Installation" section), still I cannot get nanoDLP to work for some reason (as once the system reboots it is like it was never installed).
By reading on the download page of nanodlp it looks like the RaspberryPi Zero is not supported although here it looks like this can be done (even though it is not explained how).

Hi,
RPi zero is too slow for slicing. Other than that you should not have issue running on.
You should get blank screen as HDMI get used by nanodlp to display layers.

The zero can slice well enough, even though it is slow.
The speed wouldn't matter so much if you could start the print during processing like you can with the beefier Pi 3 - but this just stops the processing when you do it with the Pi Zero. So eventually it gets to the last layer processed before you hit start print, and it gets stuck suppressing logs.

Issue is not only slow CPU, bigger bottleneck is available memory.

On the dashboard the CPU goes up to about 150% and sits there during slicing, but Memory usually just sits low at around 10-15%...
Silly question but why doesn't the zero try to continue slicing if you start a print as it does with the 3? Shouldn't it still do it, just very slowly?

It depends on STL file size, some users upload up to GB to RPI, previously it tend to crash due to memory usage but recent versions handle very large files as long as they have enough space albeit slower.
Yes, it will slice on zero too.
