Poor Wi-Fi Management Can Cost Mobile Operators $18bn

XCellAir has released the research study that reveals that operators could fail to capture up to $18bn of opportunity cost if they continue to poorly manage unregulated spectrum. The study, conducted in partnership with independent telecoms analyst Real Wireless, shows that poor management of Wi-Fi assets severely limits usefulness in dense urban environments where many access points are deployed to serve large numbers of users and large volumes of data. Interference between these access points, and minimal spectrum management, means that the user experience is often sub-optimal.

There is little hard evidence that Wi-Fi network and other radio wave "pollution" is harmful to your health, but a new GoNet Systems eBrief looks at how this pollution can be reduced, to ease consumer concerns. Titled "Are Wi-Fi Networks Harmful to Your Health?" the eBrief looks at the proliferation of Wi-Fi networks and cellular coverage, and concludes that users and others have a legitimate interest in reducing the volume of radio waves.

New Software Addresses Emerging Wireless Power Transfer Applications

Keysight Technologies has introduced a wireless power transfer analysis option for its E5072A, E5061B, and E5063A ENA series network analyzers. With this software option, the ENA Series network analyzers are now able to effectively address the needs of emerging wireless power transfer (WPT) markets.

A key factor in designing WPT devices is the performance of the power transfer efficiency between coupled coils and resonators. Therefore, the ability to characterize these components and measure power transfer efficiency in real-time is paramount. Keysight’s new WPT analysis option provides that capability with its arbitrary load impedance setting.

Optenni Matching Network Design Workflow Now Integrates with Remcom EM Software

Remcom has announced the integration of XFdtd Electromagnetic Simulation Software and Optenni Lab matching circuit optimization software.
