Linear travel motor

I found this by accident. I suspect you could find this through other places as well. It has some serious robot uses. It is at heart a linear travel motor -- linear servo anyone? The price is MUCH lower than most linear travel motors available.
EDIT: a quick google for Directed Electronics 524T shows it available from lots of places. Amazon has it for $10.01
I had one of those before.
I had one of those before. They are the actuators from a car central locking kit. They are just a small gearbox with a rack and pinion output. They are splash proof and reasonably strong. Combined with a linear pot like the one in the photo they can make a good linear servo.
I gave one away as part of a prize pack when I moved to China. I think Gareth won this pack.
