How is everyone fixing the servo to the gondola, I'm reluctant to glue it as that makes changing the servo horn if needed hard. I was going to drill some holes in it and use a cable tie but then the "Flying saucer" can't sit flush on the paper anymore.

For ages I used these things http://www.3mdirect.co.uk/scotch-restickable-tabs-for-mounting-pack-of-18-tabs-1.html which are flexible, double-sided, reusable, restickable pads. I got mine from Rymans. They're really good for lots of things actually, but seem really expensive like a lot of 3M gear.

I switched to using strips of a stronger "permanent" adhesive pad simply because I found the motor had lifted after being left for 6 months. There was a bit of tension on the adhesive (gondola raised). The VHD tape I'm using now is indestructible. The down-side is it's non-reusable.

I'm less worried about it now that the servo up/down position can be adjusted in software.

The pen doesn't lift and drop for every point, only at the end of some lines. It's a lot, but I've seen worse. That said, those little servos are not indestructible.
