Hello!
Is it possible to purchase *just* the PolarShield?
I have Arduinos galure
I have steppers motors up to my ears
I have 3d printers
I even have sharpies & proper cable & Stepper Driver boards
...if I only had a (brain)... polarshield!

... it seems silly for me to buy a whole kit when I already have %90 of it in my living room.

Look forward to your response.

Bruce

Yes no problem, no point in buying stuff you already have or can get cheaper locally - I've listed a couple of flavours of polarshield packs - http://polargraph.bigcartel.com/product/polarshield have a look! I can't list every combination, but if you already have stepsticks/pololus then you can paypal me direct the same amount less £17 (price of drivers). Or drop me an email and I can raise an invoice for you.

cheers!

Thanks for the link!
I purchased a Polarshield unassembled kit.
I'm in the US... The trade between Pounds and Dollars is a bit steep!
(46 GBP => $78, with shipping)
Thank you for providing a beautiful site and a great device!
On your site, you mention that you made some quick mods to use larger pens for store displays (which are awesome!)... do you elaborate on this anywhere? I'd love to be able to do the same thing on glass - its a wonderful effect.
Thanks again!

Cool stuff Bruce, thanks. The exchange rate makes it worse, but it is just expensive whichever way you spin it - the cost of each bit is small, but it all adds up pretty quick unless you're buying 10,000 at a time. Even with a couple of hundred at a time the volume breaks are pretty slim. I've done my best to keep the price as low as possible, but I can't do it for just cost anymore - actually that's the main reason for open-sourcing things, so folk can make stuff themselves rather than pay me for it if they can figure out a better way of doing it. Buying stuff from China, having it shipped to the UK, then posted back to Australia seems like last-days-of-the-empire madness. And shipping itself is so expensive, but its not worth plumping for a cheaper service because the risk is so much higher with things of this value, and nobody wants to wait two weeks when they've spent this much.

Anyway, I hope you like the results, I will write up an assembly guide between now and you getting yours, so you aren't just guessing.

Right, the big-pen gondola isn't written up properly anywhere no, except what you've read here on the forum (I guess) with the version published here: http://www.ponoko.com/showroom/TeamTeamUSA. If I get a chance I will try to call into Spectrum and take a couple of documentary pics of the gondola in-situ and write up the process, but there isn't much to it to be honest - Stuart's gondola performed admirably!
