Post Using a Raspberry Pi instead of sd card

Hi, I really like the drawings with the Norwegian Pixels method. I was wondering if it possible to implement the drawing using a Raspberry Pi instead of a micro sd module. Would it be any faster? If not, can I use something like the sd module from the link below..

Almost all of the SD card modules I've seen have been pretty much the same. They take power, and have four lines for MISO, MOSI, CS and SCK. If it can do that, it'll probably work, wired up: http://www.polargraph.co.uk/2012/02/state-of-the-art-tangle/

The only issue is that SD cards run on 3.3v logic, so sometimes don't like being driven at 5v, or the arduino doesn't like receiving 3.3v signals. A good SD module has a voltage level convertor, or a switch or something on it. Almost all will have a bunch of resistors to help with that, but YMMV.
