Post Imported SVG fine but controller draw vector not working

Hi it's Freddie and i have very recently joined the community.

I have assembled the machine and it's up and going!
I'm quite happy with the progress this has been achieved quite quickly.
but i'm still very new and having some troubles here

I can uproad PNG image and do the rendering on controller and get the machine to draw it

However, when i try to upload SVG even though i press draw vectors it won't start doing it

what i noticed differently from PNG drawing is that when i upload vector
i see little text on top left corner 'Default.properties' tuning into red.

I have followed all the steps on inkscape as mentioned in instructable..
what could be the problem here?

Hi Freddie,
can you see the drawing on the preview screen? If not, try to move and scale the drawing with the move and scale commands so that it fits onto your paper.
Then see if the gcode commands being generated on the right hand side. Are the processed one after the other? If the commands are there, is the queue active and green?

Only thing I can think of is that all of the lines are shorter than the value in the "shortest vector" control. Try knocking that value down to 0 to make sure that no lines are being filtered out.

Now, you say that you can see the vector floating around and following the cursor - do you _also_ see it fixed on the paper in the machine preview on the screen?

Hi sandy

I don't see it fixing on to the paper in the machine preview. unlike when i upload jpg or png
would this be something wrong with the file?
to make sure that file is not corrupt i tried one being expeort from illustrator and also drew a simple shape from inkscape as well but notthing seems to be working atm

Thankyou

Freddie

Aha, right, there's something that isn't _at all_ clear, and that is that only the area inside the "frame" is drawn. If you don't see it fixing onto the page, I suspect that's it.

1. Select an area just as you would with a jpg
2. Click "set frame to area"
3. try to place the vector art again

The position of the frame is saved in the properties file.

Hope that's it.

Ha ha, you should be blaming me for making it so awkward in the first place!
