Post Max SD file size / length?

Anyone know what the maximum file size or length is that we can draw from SD card? I have one which is 130,000 lines long which is about 2500Kb but the polargraph won't 'see' this file when selecting a draw file?

So what you mean is that when you do "draw from sd", then your file doesn't show up in the list when you cycle through the files?

The machine dumps out a full directory listing when it first turns on. If you have the controller open, pop up the debug console (ctrl+c), and press reset on your machine, and you'll see a listing whiz by (I think). Check to see if your file is in that list.

The file's name has to be 8 characters or less, and no unusual characters. I can't remember what happens when you break that rule, but maybe it doesn't list the file? Possibly this is the problem, not the size?

Many thanks, the file was named Art2.txt but renaming to big.txt seems to have fixed things 🙂
Also, pressing ctrl c brings up a grey 'Queue clicked' window on the input screen which doesn't show the bedug code - is there perhaps another way to invoke debug?

Yep, that's the debug console. It shows the raw output of the communications with the Polargraph machine, so you'll see the regular READY... statements coming through from it, as well as the filelisting dump when it first powers up.

Thanks Sandy, I got the debug working - very useful. I was having mixed results with the files but then tried swapping SD cards from a Toshiba 512mb to a Fuji 1gb which so far seems to have made things more reliable.
Thanks again for the help - after a few years off I'm up and drawing again 🙂
