I've got a good news/bad news quality control report:
THE GOOD NEWS: After testing, I'm sure the problem has been correctly identified.
THE BAD NEWS: The 1.7 controller didn't fix the problem.
THE DETAILS: If I type my desired drawing values into the default.properties.txt, the queues generated are gap free, 100% of the time. If I adjust the grid size values using the slider in the controller, I have a 50% chance of getting a queue with gaps. When I use the slider, I see the the grid preview update twice per integer increment, so I'm assuming it's still allowing adjustments of .5 rather than the whole numbers being displayed.

Now that I know how to recognize a queue with gaps by looking at the values in it, and don't have to waste time/ink/paper doing test drawings, life is much easier. 🙂

Thanks to Nosetinker and Sandy for working on this!

Good news: Kong is the winner of the early-adopter prize by spotting my deliberate error, and I have uploaded the _really_ fixed version (https://github.com/euphy/polargraphcontroller/releases/tag/1.7.1)

Bad news is that I put the fix in, tested it to make sure it worked, then took it out to make sure it stopped working (to be sure it wasn't working by coincidence), then neglected to put it back in before bundling it all up. Duh, I apologise.

I have modified the blog post to reflect the new v1.7.1 bundle:

Between you and me, (no one else reads this twaddle, right?), I just searched my email account for the word "gaps". The oldest email I sent to you that mentions them is when I was first playtesting the PolargraphSD -- dated July 11, 2112. Counting my fingers and toes, that's 20 months to the day.

Then some joker who calls himself "Nosetinker" comes into the picture and has the nerve to point out the fact that we're idiots, when everyone else on this forum has been polite enough to not mention it all these years. Hey Nosetinker, maybe some of us like fumbling around in the dark, did you ever think of that?

It is a bit embarrassing. Like you say though, lucky nobody else reads this, otherwise we'd look like proper fools! Ha!

Sooo... I'm a little late to the party, but I did notice the "gap" phenomena. I never said anything because I was so deliriously happy to be able to draw big awesome things.
