Hey Sandy,
I have the new machine making lines (!)

I have a problem, though...
It appears that the machine always thinks that the pen is very think...
The square waves are no closer than about 5mm, peak to peak.
If I run the pen test, I get nice colored in , closely spaced square waves...

I've tried to modify the pen width in the processing app, but this appears to make no difference...

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
B

A common mistake when people are learning to use the controller is not hitting the "SEND PEN TIP SIZE" after adjusting the value slider. Is this a possibility?

Are you using a polargraphSD? If so, have you tried adjusting the pen size on the touchscreen?

Yes what Kong says, that's what I normally do: do the pen width test and figure out the best pen width I want to use, then forget to actually send the new pen width and wonder why it doesn't work.

The other thing is to send the pen width, but then straightaway reset the board because I want to recalibrate or something, and forget that the pen width is reset to 0.8 at boot time.

Or the last thing is to forget that the _controller_ automatically loads the "change pen width" command into the queue when it is started up, with the last saved width. So if I have saved the pen width in the controller properties, then it gets overridden when I restart it. Six million ways to die.

If the pen width is genuinely making it to the machine, but you're getting sparsely shaded pixels, could it be that your pixels are simply not very dark?
