Post Straight lines coming out curved only in the x axis.

Hi,so today I finally started playing with the drawing machine after not using it for a long time. I have double checked the measurements again, but it is still giving me curved lines. This only happens when moving from left to right or right to left, and not when moving from top to bottom. It doesn't seem like it is skipping any steps as I tried to move from left to right and back again and it is reaching the same exact spot without a problem, but it is coming out curved. It always curves downwards. Any idea on what the problem could be? Thanks for the help.

Hello, it's a mis-homing issue for sure. Measurements are hard to check over the internet, so lets assume there's been a minor misunderstanding. It doesn't take much to cause distortion. http://www.instructables.com/id/Polargraph-Drawing-Machine/step17/Back-to-the-drawing-board/

What the "sag" really means is that the line is being drawn at a different vertical position than the machine thinks it is. It believes that the line is higher up than it really is, so it is putting in all these extra steps that are needed to correct the shape of the line up there. The further down the surface you go, the less correction is required.

Try homing as usual, as you have been, but then grab the sprockets and turn them to move the gondola a cm up the page, and see if the distortion gets better or worse. If it gets worse, try again in the opposite direction. Rinse and repeat!
