I made the page a little clearer. The "this is neat" link actually takes you to the datasheet which explains how to use them, that's the purpose of the link.

A tiny screwdriver in the rectangular slot opens up the spring cage inside, so in practice, I open them first because stranded wire isn't always stiff enough to get a good connection through force alone."
The wee PCB and spare terminal blocks and sockets are included so you can use them if you feel the need. You can do what you want with them or not use them at all. I think they are very useful.
