Like just about everyone else, my initial Polargraph was thrown together, and definitely looked like a "work in progress". After many months with it in the basement, I decided to upgrade it a little. Since one of my hobbies is building steampunk stuff, I decided to do it in that vein. I am attaching photos of the result, which my wife said she would allow on the living room wall. I left out the pen up/down wires, etc., as I thought they would detract, and it would be tricky to incorporate the actuator.

Unfortunately, I hadn't reckoned with our cats, who love the "dangly things", especially when they are moving and it is "purring". Now it has to go back in the basement 🙁

That is beautiful. My goal is also to make it pretty and silent enough to get a permanent place in the living room, but I seriously doubt it will be as nice as yours!

Did you spray your ballchain or did you manage to find one in brass?
