Sharing the latest piece to come off the polargraph.

Grid size: 6
Pen tip: .25 (ball point ink)
Sample size: 2
Drawing: Frequency modulation
Final Dimension: ~27cm square
Motor Speed: 400
Acc Speed: 300
Time to completion: ~5 hours

Had a small hiccup on the line that left the gap, but it adds character. I think because I've got the grid size so small, the waves aren't quite square. Not sure if this is a product of gondola wobble or if I need to slow down the motors (which would also reduce wobble I suppose). Its consistent through the entire print, so it works well. A bit of a blend between squiggles and square wave. At this resolution, it gives a well blended image from a meter away (as opposed to 5 or 6 meters at grid size 20) Done for a friend of mine.

The actual shape of the waves is remarkably consistent - looks fractal-like!

I'd like to see a drawing with pixels scaled to, say, 1.4. It really would be a new scribble/squarewave hybrid.

Wait....how do you get a grid size of 6?

That's some small grid size dude ... I knew of a guy who tried that once - he went mad. and jumped out of a window, said he'd seen a message from God in the pattern the pixels revealed. The controller won't go down that low for that reason, but if you make the incantations and change the value in the properties file itself (controller.grid.size), then you might get what you want. Don't say I didn't warn yoooouuuuuu!!!

The gondola races up to the top of the machine, and flops around manically _apparently possessed_ ... Draw your own conclusions, that's all I'm saying...

and when I set the controller.grid.size at 3, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, "Come and see". And I looked, and behold a pale horse! and his name that sat on him was Death!

You guys are too funny. I've seen too many possessions of the gondola to count. Thats why I switched to a 50lb braided fishing line! It kept breaking the string everytime it did that. Now, the weakest link seems to be the motor itself as it just sits there and skips steps.

If you want to see some real wizzardy, the paper thats tucked behind the actual drawing has a square that you can make out near the top of the machine. Thats grid 3. Havent done an actual drawing with it yet, but line to line is ~.97mm
