fyi! just posted this:
http://www.polargraph.co.uk/forum/polargraphs-group2/building-hardware-forum3/sweet-spot-calculations-thread474.0/#postid-2761

i have some experience with Rhino and Grasshopper...just got a polargraph....and I am currently setting up a GH-Definition to generate CMYK halftone patterns...almost there...already have that part from RGB (what the Image sampler spits out) to CMYK and dot area and diameter scaling of small circles according to the (LPI)resolution....unfortunately calculation times are not so short anymore...takes a couple of seconds when parameters change...or the amount of sample points gets very high.....

so far it generates coloured circles (and/or trimmed planar surfaces)....the preview doesn't do the screen blending ...therefore it looks a bit odd on the RGB computer screen...

Hi everyone,

just wanted to share a small definition I set up on the weekend and some of the first results....(sorry for the bad pictures...only have my mobile-phone camera...)
The baked curves can easily be exported to illustrator or inkscape and then saved as an svg to print with the polargraphcontroller. (For 1:1 size scale the vectors saved in illustrator in polargraphcontroller to 36.9% or (37 😉 ) (as it converts 1mm to 1px)

Also you find some additional (technical) information here:
http://www.polargraph.co.uk/forum/polargraphs-group2/troubleshooting-forum5/saw-tooth-circle-and-dubious-text-thread395.0/#postid-2841/

hope anyone can make use of it!
Daniela

Will try to directly send gcode via serial directly inside GrassHopper... Hope it will work soon 🙂

Nice! Keep us updated please!
I initially planned to do the same, but got a bit distracted by trying out all the different ways of drawing with it in general 😎
But I guess I will soon have the direct gcode export, that shouldn't be so difficult.
For now the SVG import function works so nicely in Sandy's polargraphcontroller that I didn't feel the need for a direct connection anymore, and I am not so good in programming...but it might safe a lot of time converting data indeed...

Are you doing that with "Firefly"?

Best
D

I just installed Rhino for the first time. But I was able to copy the node network with the moon image. I only wonder what that surface node does in the top left corner? Do I need to create a plane in Rhino???

EDIT
Okay I screamed for help too early. Again.

Create rectangle (2poins) -> RMB on srf node -> set one surface -> LMB created rectangle.
