I would like to create some large drawings - maybe 2 or 3 meters square, but when I input that machine and drawing size into the controller, the machine and drawing area go way off the computer screen , making it difficult to place the image in the drawing area. Is there a way around this?

You can use the mouse wheel to zoom, and middle-click drag to pan around. On the keyboard I think it's pgup/pgdn and ctrl-arrow keys.

The zoom only goes to a certain depth, if you need to modify it then you'll have to dig into the code - it'll be easy enough to change.
