but the stepper motor colours do not match the instructions 🙁 so I researched the motor and found some colour combinations which I tried to match to the arduino but with no joy
attached is a picture of the set up so far

can anyone help please

want to play with my xmas toy

Are the motors reacting at all? Jittering when you give a move command? Or nothing?

Do you have a multimeter? You can tell if you've gotten the pairs right if there's continuity in each pair. If you don't have a multimeter, you can try running a circuit through, say, red and blue, and if the circuit works the pair is correct.

(I'm assuming all else is going well? You've set the serial port in the properties.txt, the controller software says 'Polargraph READY' and you've unpaused the 'CommandQueue" before you give commands that should make the motors move?)
