Post Hardware broadcast questions

Hi Sandy!

I have some questions about the hardware broadcasts that are mentioned in http://www.instructables.com/id/Polargraph-Drawing-Machine/?ALLSTEPS:
Step 8: Electronics - Arduino
and
Step 13: Controller software - introduce it to your hardware
and
Step 14: Controller software - make it move!

As you can see in my images, between the READY broadcasts it's picking up some other stuff. Any idea what they might be? I'm trying to find out why my motors are not moving.

Looks like perhaps there's a debugging switch on, that's put it into a verbose mode ... but it doesn't ring a bell I admit.

Which version of board are you using, which version of firmware, where's the firmware from, precompiled hex or compiled from source, any modifications to it?

sn

Ah yes, I switched all the debugging options in the arduino code on.

My current specs are:
Arduino UNO
Motorshield V2.3
2x Sparkfun Mercury Motor (https://www.floris.cc/shop/en/stepper-motor/315-stepper-motor-with-cable.html?search_query=stepper+motor&results=17)

Processing 2.2.1
polargraphcontroller 2.4.0
polargraph_firmware_polarshield 1.3.1

Right now when I try using the upload machine spec I get an E17:26:29 C25,PGXXABCD,END not recognised in the QUEUE

Aye that's ok - no consequence.

So lots of stuff other than READY is because you turned all the debugging options on - it's extremely verbose. It's also the case that on the UNO, it'll crash pretty soon with those settings on. I'm even surprised that it compiles with them on. Did you already try it without debugging?

Hey Sandy,

I turned off all the debugging options an re-uploaded the code to the UNO, but the steppers are still not turning. When I try to move the pen to a point the program says it's busy and after a while it says it's done/command executed without having moved.

Greetz,
Bowie

Well that's an improvement then at least - communications is working. Is this still a question about hardware broadcast?
