Sandy and others,

Thanks again for all of your help on the forums.

I have mostly been experimenting with the raster-based options within the Controller software (still can't seem to get the circles option to work out). I recently have tried to venture into the vector world but I can't seem to get a file to load into the Controller software. Is there a step by step process that I am missing? I think I am properly outlining my objects in Adobe Illustrator and saving out to a svg file. Do you have a better success rate with Inkscape? Last week I somehow managed to load a vector file, but when I sent the info off to the machine, it proceeded to work through the commands but there was no input to the stepper motors.

Any direction would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Andi, there's no trick to loading an SVG. Sometimes it takes a while to load if it's very complicated, and then you can't find it in the window. If you zoom right out in the controller, and use "move vector" to see if you can spot the shape attached to the mouse.

The problems with not drawing successfully is a different thing. The machine will only try and draw vector lines if it believes the end point is actually on the surface. In my experience, this is always to do with not having successfully uploaded the machine spec to the machine.

If you press "c" to show the console in the controller, then do "draw direct", then you should see some debugging responses that might illuminate the problem.

The vector stuff is also used when you do a "draw direct", or when using the circular pixel style. So that's why that didn't work either.

Don't know if this helps, but remember to save your illustrator vector as svg 1.0, otherwise it won't show up in the polargraph controler.
